Description

D&D Design for my OC request from a friend

Long had Som been dedicated to the way of his order. They were a sect dedicated to the principles of the body and mind in equal balance, guided by the principle that they were to achieve perfect enlightenment by perfecting themselves. Brother Som was one of the primary leaders of this Way, teaching those who asked and lending guidance where needed. Isolated in the mountains, away from the influences of the world, the sect continued on the way they had since time imemorial--until Brother Som was brought into the highest eschelons of the sect.

It was no sect.

It was a cult.

During his moment of 'enlightenment' he was drawn into a vision while meditating--the vision revealed to him the truth. The very being that had promised them wisdom and truths was nothing more or less than a primal figure forgotten by time. A immense figure that uprooted the mind and over-rode the the will with its own 'Truth'--perfect balance by tearing away all thought or freedom. It very nearly ensnared Brother Som but he broke free and fled the monastary, never to return. Now branded as Som the Heretic or Som the Light-Bane, he moves around the world, teaching an enlightening through a new means; the will of mortal-kind.

He is marked as a friend to the Inquisition and has had dealings with them, teaching their fledglings in unarmed combat and in philosophy and will discourse with very nearly anyone who approaches with an open mind--one thing, however, remains steadfast; that the gods can be just as dangerously unsympathetic and controlling as any mortal.
